Altea is a town of the Valencian Community, located in the province of Alicante, is located on the Costa Blanca of the Mediterranean Sea, north of Benidorm and south of Calpe and has about 25,000 inhabitants. Its white village is clustered around the Parish Church, where we can appreciate a beautiful dome, covered with blue glazed tiles, which stands out against the white tones of the town. The austerity of the Temple’s Square Tower further contributes to giving that pictorial pre-eminence to the dome, which is repeatedly painted by novice and experienced artists. Between the steep and narrow streets of the old town stands out the colorful white, which sometimes breaks with the greenery of some plant or the fuchsia of a bougainvillea. Photographers and painters are often found in these enclaves, looking for places with flavor, next to the immense bustle of tourism. On the seafront you can enjoy a pleasant seabreeze, with wonderful views of the bay. Numerous terraces that are in the same, of bars and restaurants, offer the possibility of tasting the gastronomy of the zone. The healthy and renowned Mediterranean cuisine, authentic dietetic panacea of our times, is practiced by the Alteanos, always.
The cuisine of this town is based on traditional products; Fish, seafood, rice and garden products such as vegetables and fruits.
